All newly hired Hoffmann steel fabricators complete 47.5 hours of training. Their training includes blueprint reading, hands-on welding and layout, hands-on plasma and oxy-acetylene cutting, and AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code steel certification test using FCAW in 3G and 4G positions.
Quality
Hoffmann’s full-time Fabrication Quality Control Superintendent is responsible for certifying our fabricators as needed by a guided bend test. This individual performs visual weld inspections and arranges for liquid dye penetrant and magnetic-particle testing, RT and UT inspections by outside contractors. Dimensional and quality inspections are performed during fabrication as is a final inspection upon completion of the product. Hoffmann follows AWS-D1.1, AWS-D1.6, AWS-D14.1, AWS-D1.2, and other codes as they pertain to specific project applications. We also follow ASME codes and standards.
Hoffmann has a written QA/QC manual that is evaluated and updated periodically.
